About
Considering Money was born out of the need for providing financial education for regular people. It can provide insights into the wisdom of good money management and common sense investing. (Our Mission Statement)
This site does not attempt to tell you what stock, bond or mutual fund to buy, but how to make better and informed decisions about accumulating wealth and eliminating debt. It will also provide some of the wisdom that 25-years in the financial services industry wrought.
Considering Money takes an unbiased approach to providing investment and savings knowledge. We don’t make fees or commissions from our readers’ decisions, so we can educate without any ulterior motives.*
It’s my hope that the ideas and information on this web site will provide some useful guidance to your own finances. The world’s economic problems and the daily dismal newscasts might cause you concern about your personal money management. Considering Money can be a guiding light on this perplexing subject.
All the Best,
K Richard Douglas
Considering Money pays honor to the memory of Mike Kavanagh, a person who taught more people about managing their money wisely than nearly anybody else. Mike was the epitome of honesty, integrity and class. Mike’s show Money Matters, on WSB in Atlanta, provided sound money management education to thousands.
Mike was also a principal in an advisory firm. The guy who always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face will be missed by many. Especially his old friends like yours truly. He died on his 57th birthday, Dec. 6, 2008.
After a life of helping others, he left us far too young.

* update 11/13/10-advice has led us to the realization that some education materials and the option to buy such, would be a good addition to the site. We would earn a commission on the purchase of these items.
